Cherry Picker Rental

Hire Safe Solutions specialise in cherry picker rental for many industrial uses. Whether you’re repairing telegraph poles, stocktaking, or cutting down trees, cherry pickers are known by many as the most common type of powered access platform. They’re reliable, versatile, and sturdy machines that get the job done and are trusted by many across all levels of industry.

When it comes to cherry picker rental, we have a fantastic fleet to choose from. We stock a range of cherry pickers and boom lifts from some of the access equipment industry’s biggest names including Genie, Niftylift, JLG, Manitou, and more. Providing electric, diesel, and hybrid-powered options, we’re sure to have a lift to suit your needs.

Before you hire a cherry picker, you should consider a few key factors that will influence the type of platform you will choose. Choosing the right lift for the job will give you peace of mind that you can access those hard-to-reach areas safely and efficiently!

Hire Safe Solutions recommend that you ask yourself the following questions to narrow down your choice when renting a mobile elevating work platform (MEWP).

Where will the MEWP be used?

Firstly, you should determine whether you will be using the machine indoors or outdoors. Both locations pose challenges, and picking a lift uniquely suited to your environment will increase safety.

If the job is indoors, electric access platforms are often preferred as they don’t produce any emissions/fumes and are safe to use indoors. There may also be narrow corridors or small spaces when indoors, so you should ensure the MEWP you choose is compact enough to navigate these areas. If outdoors, you should consider the type of terrain you will need to cross. Suppose it is likely to be soft, bumpy or uneven ground conditions. In that case, you should choose a MEWP with added stability that will allow you to safely and efficiently traverse challenging terrain.

What height and reach do I want to achieve?

You should ensure the equipment you choose can reach the correct height and outreach for the job at hand. Cherry picker height is usually measured from the ground up to its maximum vertical reach. Outreach is measured from the lifting arm (turret) to the average range of someone’s arm extended from the basket of the boom. Knowing an estimate of the height and outreach you require will help with your selection.

How much will your equipment weigh?

Another crucial factor is the weight of the tools or equipment that you want to take with you in the bucket/basket. The weight of this will affect the reach available for your machine. The more the load is increased, the lower the reach will be. You should account for the weight of operators as well as tools and any other products you will need to complete the job.

Of course, if you need help selecting a cherry picker, our team of professionals know all there is to know about access platforms and their uses in industry.
